Editorial Policy
Last updated: February 2026
At FundedAccountReview, our mission is to provide traders with accurate, unbiased, and thoroughly researched information about proprietary trading firms. This editorial policy outlines the standards, methodology, and principles that guide every piece of content we publish.
Our Core Principles
Editorial Independence
Our ratings and reviews are never influenced by advertising, affiliate partnerships, or sponsorships. Firms cannot pay for higher ratings or more favorable coverage. Our editorial team operates independently from our business partnerships.
Hands-On Testing
We purchase evaluations with our own funds and complete the process as a real trader would. This first-hand experience informs our reviews far more than marketing materials or press releases ever could.
Consistent Methodology
Every firm is evaluated against the same six criteria using a standardized scoring rubric. This ensures fair, apples-to-apples comparisons regardless of whether a firm is an affiliate partner or not.
Transparency
We clearly disclose all affiliate relationships and potential conflicts of interest. If we earn a commission from a firm, it is explicitly stated at the top of the review. Our affiliate relationships are listed on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
Review Methodology
Every prop firm review follows a structured, multi-step process designed to produce fair and comprehensive evaluations. Our review process typically takes 4-6 weeks per firm and involves the following stages:
Step 1: Account Purchase & Evaluation
We purchase at least one evaluation account using our own funds. No complimentary or discounted accounts are accepted from firms, as this could compromise our objectivity. We complete the evaluation process as a real trader would, documenting our experience throughout.
Step 2: Data Collection & Verification
We collect data on pricing, rules, trading conditions, platform performance, and customer support responsiveness. We cross-reference firm claims with third-party sources including Trustpilot reviews, community forums, and regulatory databases.
Step 3: Community Research
We analyze feedback from funded traders across multiple platforms including Reddit, Discord communities, Trustpilot, and trading forums. This helps us identify patterns in user experience that may not be apparent from our own testing alone.
Step 4: Scoring & Writing
Each firm is scored against our six standardized criteria (detailed below). The review is written by the assigned analyst and then fact-checked by a second team member before publication.
Step 5: Ongoing Monitoring
Published reviews are updated whenever a firm makes significant changes to their pricing, rules, or policies. Each review displays the date of its last update. We also monitor community sentiment and will add warnings or update scores if issues arise after publication.
Scoring Criteria
Our overall rating is a weighted average of six criteria. Each criterion is scored on a 0-100 scale, and the weights reflect the relative importance of each factor to a typical funded trader.
| Criterion | Weight | What We Evaluate |
|---|---|---|
| Trustworthiness & Reputation | 25% | Company registration, regulatory status, track record, payout history, community sentiment, Trustpilot reviews, and overall transparency. |
| Evaluation Process | 20% | Fairness of profit targets, time limits, number of evaluation steps, free retries, and overall accessibility for different skill levels. |
| Pricing & Value | 15% | Evaluation fees relative to account size, fee refund policies, discount availability, and overall cost-effectiveness compared to competitors. |
| Trading Rules & Conditions | 15% | Drawdown type (static vs. trailing), leverage, instrument availability, trading style restrictions, and weekend/news trading policies. |
| Payout Reliability & Speed | 15% | Profit split percentage, payout frequency, processing speed, available withdrawal methods, and scaling plan terms. |
| Customer Support | 10% | Response time, support channels, knowledge base quality, multilingual support, and community engagement. |
Affiliate Relationships & Conflicts of Interest
FundedAccountReview participates in affiliate programs with some of the firms we review. When you click certain links on our site and purchase an evaluation, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. Here is how we handle potential conflicts:
- Disclosure at the top: Every review that contains affiliate links displays a clear disclosure notice at the beginning of the article.
- No pay-for-play: Firms cannot pay for higher ratings, more favorable language, or placement in our comparison tables.
- Equal treatment: Non-affiliate firms receive the same depth and quality of review as affiliate partners.
- Negative reviews are published: If a firm scores poorly in our evaluation, the review is published regardless of affiliate status.
Corrections & Updates
We are committed to accuracy. If we publish information that is incorrect or becomes outdated, we will update the content promptly. Corrections are noted at the top of the affected article. If you believe any of our content contains an error, please contact us at corrections@fundedaccountreview.com and we will investigate within 48 hours.
